A Few Pebbles

ISBN: 978-0-8059-9696-8

by Hugh D. Wright, Sr. The few pebbles appearing in this book were written over a sixty-year period from 1944 to 2004: some in London during the four years Hugh D. Wright, Sr., was serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve and was inspired to write poetry creating images of bitter cold and meager rations in letters to his parents in Honduras; some in the Republic of Honduras, his birthplace, where he worked for ten years with the Tela Railroad Company in La Lima, a subsidiary of the United Fruit Company, before migrating to Brooklyn in 1960. A newspaper advertisement prompted the author to send one of his poems, and today he is the recipient of seven Editors Choice Awards in Poetry presented by the National Library of Poetry and published in various anthologies.
