Adolescence is a compilation of candid poetry that explores one young womans coming-of-age. Posa explains that she always thought that writing poetry was like riding a bicyclethe more you practice, the more comfortable you are with the process and the more successful you will be. In her early writings, Posa was constrained by rhyme, and therefore her work did not fully express her emotions because she was more concerned with the clich than the purpose. She has since broken out of that mold and come into her own as a poet. In characterizing Adolescence, Posa explains that, Ive learned to use the words to my advantage, because it is only through words that our feeling can be truly expressed.
