Decision Framework: A Strategic Planning and Control Expert System
by Charles Seymour
Charles Seymour, MBA and retired CPA, has over fifty years of professional accounting and management related experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.
His for-profit experience includes being staff accountant for IBM, PepsiCo, and Pfizer, and VP Finance of a startup pipe fabrication company, Crippen Pipe Fabrication Corporation. His not-for-profit experience was as an IRS field agent, manager and director of continuing professional education at the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), and finally as a municipal audit quality assurance manager at the state of New Jersey.
He noted that CPAs had professional standards and, thereby, guidance for performing audits, but no standards for performing management consulting, although the large regional and national firms performed management consulting services.
This reality gave birth to Decision Framework: A Strategic Planning and Control Expert System to provide business consulting guidance for small business. Both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations involve marketing, production, financing, public relations, and adminstration. The difference is return on investment.
Decision Framework remains focused on management. Management is performed by people who manage people by applying people related management principles and activities, such as planning, organization, directing, and controlling the products and services.
Thereby, Decision Framework's knowledge base remains effective and reliable; similar to the best books of all time whose focus is people.(2012, paperback, 136 pages)
