by Massoum Montakhab, Dsc, PhD Meet Dr. Massoum Montakhab, who has extensive, far-reaching experience on two sides of the globe. Dr. Montakhab was a seamstress by the age of nine who had a never-ending desire to learn. She skipped fourth and eighth grade. Considered rebellious, she was then forced to marry a stranger at the age of fourteen. While working fulltime after the births of her three children, she attended adult night school in order to complete high school. Valedictorian of her graduating class at Tehran University, she was one in the first group to receive an Iranian six-year scholarship to graduate school in the United States. Yet this meant she had to leave her family, friends, and support behind and travel to a far-off country where she didnt speak the language. Learn about the religious influences of Iran on her life, about the struggles to leave Iran after the execution of her good friend during the Iranian revolution and the rise of Khomeini in 1979 and 1980, about her time making test-tube babies, managing a bakery, and founding a biotech laboratory with her daughter. This book is the account of her life, education, hardships, disappointments, and glorious success and achievements.
