by Mary McAuley

Emily's life flashes before her eyes as she breathes her last. She willingly embraces death in her desire to escape the painful memories of her past. She vividly recalls the most tragic event in her life when her parents died in a car accident, leaving her an orphan. Her life has not been the same since that day. She is broken inside, no matter how hard she tries to act, think, and feel normal. And when she can no longer bear the misery, she takes her own life.

As a soul wandering the earth, Emily meets Tristan, her angel guide. Tristan is puzzled by Emily's personality, since she fully accepts her fate without remorse. As Tristan shows Emily her new home, Heaven, and the demons who are her enemies, she realizes what she is capable of. And her journey to forever has just begun.
