About the Book
Clarissa is a Hippo who loves to dance, but she is teased in her first ever dance class for her size. Despite the bullying, Clarissa works hard, with the assistance of her mother and dance teacher, and becomes a wonderful dancer and falls in love with dancing all over again.
Clarissa Learns to Dance teaches children with hard work and perseverance you can accomplish anything. The book teaches children about body positivity and encourages children to be active with physical activities.
About the Author
Author Erica Bruno is a nurse that specializes in women’s health. She lives in Ohio with her husband and two boys. She enjoys reading, writing, hiking, swimming, and spending time with her family.
About the Illustrator
My name is Sherry, I’m a nurse that works in the operating room specializing in open heart surgery. I have enjoyed drawing since I was a kid and was very excited to help Erica bring her book to life. While I have no kids myself, I have 3 nephews that I love and cherish. I hope they, along with you, enjoy our story.
