by Martha Williams ABOUT THE AUTHOR Martha Williams grew up in North Dakota the ninth of thirteen children. She received her education in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and joined the U.S. Army for three years during the end of the Vietnam conflict. She was employed with the railroad for twenty-three years, and has recently returned to college to pursue a law degree. She is currently involved with campus activities and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society. She volunteers to assist the needy at the local food bank and supports disabled veterans and the local symphony. One of her teachers has been instrumental to her in the writing process, which has been a unique form of therapy for her to work through the issues in her life.
