The author of Why? is Terrie DeWitt. Terrie was born July 25, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was one of three children growing up in a middleclass suburban neighborhood. Her two brothers and father shared with her a unique fondness for the outdoors, and Terrie grew up to savor it for all the beauty it held.

Terrie had always displayed a great foresight and imagination that when combined inspired her to create a story that every reader will be sure to find intriguing. Why? is the first of a series of short stories that will mark places in our historical past, places in time when a person has to ask themselves, Why did this happen? Significant events in our past have transpired to develop all people as a whole into the people we are today. Through imagination, we can explore our subconscious combining fiction with real history. Terrie has done this.

In this first episode of this new series Why? you will witness the historical event of the Space Shuttle Explorer exploding, a fox named Randy, and the tragic death of a dog.
